On the Great Debate

January 14, 2008

In general, the more quality an argument, the fewer words and emotions it takes to deliver.  That Linix is faster than Windows can be argued passionately, and yet the passion is wasted  Professional opinions can be gathered, but they will disagree.  And when benchmarks are presented, only closed minds emerge.  Of those who argued that the year 2000 was to be the end, many intelligent people forecasted that it would rain airplanes.  However, the final argument was made 01/01/2000 12:00:01.

Wanting a Meal

He heard a soft, high-pitched whimpering
and saw a tiny girl
trying to make her way to the feeding centre.
As he crouched to photograph her, a vulture landed in view.
Careful not to disturb the bird, he positioned himself for the best possible image.
He would later say he waited about 20 minutes,
hoping the vulture would spread its wings.
It did not, and after he took his photographs, he chased the bird away
and watched as the little girl resumed her struggle.
Afterward he sat under a tree, lit a cigarette, talked to God and cried.
“He was depressed afterward,” Silva recalls.
“He kept saying he wanted to hug his daughter.”

On Being Silent

December 15, 2007

Many years, few words
iter per aspera
Time, a brief commodity
beaten, left for dumb
Inspiration, falls like lightening

If the truth be told, I needs tell it…
